Program Manager: HomeShare Kootenai County, Inc.
Our Mission: HomeShare Kootenai County aims to increase the availability and affordability of housing in Kootenai County by connecting home providers with home seekers.
Responsibilities may include:
  • Administrative support to Board of Directors
  • Oversee and maintain HomeShare Kootenai County status as a 501c3
  • Oversee production and distribution of collateral marketing materials
  • Maintain and assist with website updates
  • Search, write and oversee grants, monitor deliverables, oversee evaluation components, report to funders, and monitor budgets and expenses for grants
  • Develop relationships with our community partners throughout the County
  • Develop and maintain effective record keeping of volunteer hours
  • Plan fundraising initiatives to help the organization meet financial goals, including a check writing campaign and other fundraising events
  • Ensure major donors are satisfied and recognized
  • Monitor and reply to inquiries from the website and phone line
  • Coordinate efforts with the National Shared Housing Resource Center to encourage best practices and cross learn from other national programs
  • Assist the board of directors in preparation and monitoring the budget
  • Assist Treasurer with account management functions for HomeShare Kootenai County including accounts receivable and accounts payable
  • Assist the Treasurer with limited account management details that include preparation of donor invoices and depositing funds to the bank
  • Management of the home provider and home seeker databases
  • Conduct background checks on home providers and home seekers
  • Producing guidelines and procedure documents
  • Recruit, train and encourage volunteers to join in our mission as match ambassadors or board members.
  • Facilitate match meetings and trial matches
  • Provide ongoing oversight to matched home providers and seekers including housing agreements, mediation, and transition services as needed
  • Report program data and outreach information for program evaluation and funding reports.
Desired Qualifications:
  • Experience in grant writing, and reporting
  • Ability to present HomeShare Kootenai County in a professional manner to community organizations, potential funders, and the community at large
  • Excellent computer skills, including experience with websites and social media
  • Ability to work with diverse populations
  • Experience with a variety of forms of fundraising
  • Knowledge of Kootenai County preferred
  • Reliable Transportation, valid license and insurance required
  • Experience in customer service and community outreach.
  • Knowledge of community service agencies, governmental assistance programs and grant funding opportunities.
  • Ability to oversee client conflict resolution
  • Able to work from home with necessary wi-fi and phone in order to conduct business in a professional manner
Education Background:
Bachelor’s degree or relevant work experience
This is a six-month, renewable contractor position. The Program Director provides his or her own computer, smart phone, working area and vehicle. Expected number of hours of work per week 10 – 20. Rate of pay: $24-$29.00/hr. based on experience level along with opportunities for commission and bonus based on a percentage of grants received, successful matches and fundraising. This rate of pay to be reevaluated after six months and additional sources of funding have been secured.
